I think that our business stands out because we are making something useful, sustainable, fun AND beautiful. Bog Berry Dryer Balls completely replace toxic dryer sheets- softening clothes naturally, reducing static and wrinkles, and helping your clothes to dry more quickly. They are true multi taskers...just like us! I'm Brooke- the owner, maker and thinker-upper of all things Bog Berry. My fella Jason sews like crazy...making our muslin storage bags by hand and as the entire shipping department, also walks to the post office MANY times a week- shipping dryer balls and other goodies all across the globe. Our daughter Eleanor pitches in by tolerating life in a pile of wool and muslin ( hey- she doesn't know any better!) and keeps our already busy hands doubly busy. Everything is handmade, happily, by us in our little Philly apartment. Thanks for taking the time to get to know Bog Berry. All the very best to you and yours. ♥ Brooke, Jason & Eleanor
We try to take part in, support and promote as many events in our adopted hometown of Philadelphia as we can. We joined our fledgling local co-op...we love schlepping our Christmas trees over to the park for our neighborhood's annual mulch making extravaganza....and just generally try to be a part of the good things happening around here :)
The basic idea behind our product is to keep harmful chemicals off of your family's laundry, and chemical laden, non biodegradable dryer sheets out of landfills. We make a totally sustainable product without machinery, chemicals, synthetics or waste. The best part is, you can reuse them for all of your laundry doing years. We also contribute to environmental causes when we can, whether by donation or by picking up trash at the neighborhood park where our daughter plays...
Well, our main employee is me...followed by Jason my hardworking bag maker and shipping department. We do work a lot....(like, A LOT) but never fear, I remain strongly committed to encouraging myself to drink a glass of wine after a long night of work. All joking aside- It's important to allow for an occasional morning off for coffee with a friend, or one night of just relaxing. We also have a 4 year old in the house....so we make sure to ( as much as we can help it) work during designated work time ( when she is at school or asleep!) and to just put it aside during that middle stretch of the day, and spend real time together.
