Golden Road Brewing

VERIFIED business since Apr 2015

In 2011, beer enthusiasts Meg Gill and Tony Yanow founded Golden Road Brewing to bring fresh beer to the local market in the most sustainable way possible. Golden Road is committed to engaging and supporting the growing community of socially-minded beer enthusiasts. Brewed and canned in Los Angeles, Golden Road’s year-round offerings include Point the Way IPA, Golden Road Hefeweizen, Get Up Offa That Brown and Wolf Among Weeds IPA. Along with the core beers, Golden Road brewers are constantly experimenting with the freshest ingredients through a collection of rotating, seasonal and limited-edition brews including the Custom IPA Series, a line-up of diverse, hop-forward IPAs.

  • Community

Golden Road will be a proud sponsor of this year's Echo Park Rising happening all over Echo Park on August 15-17. This has been a project that our entire team has had a hand in; from marketing to public relations, sales, social media, and beyond. We are big proponents to local events, culture, and music and we thought "what better way than to serve local beer, too?" In 2014, we became proud sponsors of Southern California's premiere all-female, banked track roller derby league. Founded in October 2003 by Rebecca Ninburg (a.k.a. Demolicious) and Wendy Templeton (a.k.a. Thora Zeen), the L.A. Derby Dolls are a league of more than 150 skaters and volunteers, divided into five teams.

  • Environment

As part of our commitment to local community, we teamed up with Heal The Bay in 2013 to make Heal The Bay IPA. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this beer goes to the organization. Heal The Bay is an extraordinary environmental nonprofit based in Santa Monica and founded in 1985 with the mission of making Southern California's coastal waters and watersheds, including Santa Monica Bay, safe, healthy and clean. In 2014, we extended our community outreach to raise awareness of the Greenway 2020 project by introducing another beer into our Custom IPA series, 2020 IPA. Greenway 2020 aims to connect 51 miles of the L.A. River—transforming it from a neglected, concrete riverbed to a connected, public green space by the year 2020.
